333,652. Le Vine, H. C. May 25, 1929. Electric stoves. - In an electric toaster, the heating-elements have an outer frame, the blank of which is shown in Fig. 4. The lower section 14 and the upper section 15 are connected by side sections 16, 17 having holes 22 which retain the guard wires 28 in position. Flanges 18, 21 are provided for strengthening the frame. The tongue 23 overlaps and is secured to the section 17. In the end holes 19 in the bottom section, porcelain plugs 24 are located, being retained by binding posts 25 which secure the ends of the heater wire. In the remaining holes 19 and in the holes 20 in the top section, hook-shaped insulators are secured over which the wire is trained. The coils of the heater are spaced further apart as they approach the top of the toaster, thus compensating for the heating effect of the ascending air, and producing uniformity in the application of heat to the slices. Vertical movement of the heaters is prevented by springs 32.
