Bursting of water. pipes, preventing.- In means for pre. venting bursting of pipes in hot-water supply systems by freezing, valves B, E are provided and are operable by an arm I extending through the ceiling, the valve B enabling the cold. water tank A to be brought into the hot-water circulation system and the valve E simultaneously closing supply from the tank A to the pipe F leading to the lavatory etc.; the pipe F may then be emptied, an air vent being provided by a pipe G leading to a ball valve in the lavatory cistern.
