Resistance ovens. - In apparatus for cooking by hot air, and in which the gas heating - elements l shown may be replaced by electric heaters, the air heated in the channels k is circulated upwardly through the cooking chamber b by a fan g arranged above a chamber e in which the hot air is mixed with adjustable quantities of fresh air. Dampers are provided to control the inlet of fresh air to the chamber e and also the outlet of air from an aperture in the top of the apparatus. Dampers c<1> control the air circulation from the lower ends of the channels k into the oven. Fat &c. is collected in a well or gutter s.
