Abstract
332,841. Elsner, H. March 26, 1929, [Convention date]. Addition to 307,927. Electrodes.-Storage battery electrodes consist of corrugated sheets of insulating material with active material in the corrugations, the latter being formed to include more than half the circumference of a circle. The openings of the corrugations may be closed by strips of material 21, 22 as shown in Fig. 1, or the corrugations may be completely closed as shown in Fig. 3. The tubes formed by such closed corrugations may be made to touch one another and the electrode so formed may be used vertically as shown in Fig. 4. Within the corrugations are rods 9 carrying discs 19 which help to support the sheets. Conducting plates 24, 25 close the ends of the tubes and may be made integral with the rods 9. Positive plates of the above construction may be used with negative plates of the usual grid type.
