Abstract

291,138. Hart Accumulator Co., Ltd., and Schofield, W. Feb. 22, 1927. Electrodes.-A storage battery electrode consists of a number of conductors 5 surrounded by active material contained in tubes formed by two abutting sheets of corrugated insulating material 2. The latter are provided with slots to allow access of electrolvte to the interior of the tubes, and the conductors 5 are provided with washers 6 to prevent settling of the active material within the tubes. The sheets 2 are provided at intervals with flat portions 8 through which rivets pass and ebonite strips 7 embrace the edges of the sheets. The conductors 5 are joined at their ends by bars 4, and the sheets 2 are joined by bars 9 which may be burned to the bars 4. The sheets 2 may be provided with horizontal and' vertical corrugations and the slots and corrugations may be formed in one' operation while thematerial is soft and before vulcanization.
