Abstract

332,648. Warren, S. R. May 13, 1929. Diaphragm horns. - Sound magnifying and directing apparatus for gramophones, wireless loud-speakers, and the like comprises a series of tubes d - - h arranged concentrically around a cone b, the apex of which extends to, or substantially to, the entrance to the tube, and with opposite ends connected together in alternation by annular rings c<1> - - c' to form a continuous conduit possessing a regular ratio of expansion. The apparatus may be made in two parts by assembling the tubes g, h and cone b as a unit with struts or spacers i, and subsequently assembling this in position with another unit comprising the tubes d, e, f, which may be mounted with a conduit for connection with the gramophone. The spaces between the tubes may be solid or hollow.
