Abstract

332,443. Zimmermann, O. Sept. 5, 1929. Pen stands.-In fountain-pen stands of the kind wherein the penreceiving sleeve or socket is mounted by a ball-andsocket joint on a base plate, the sleeve 2, Fig. 1, throughout its length lies within a hollow ball 1 which is supported upon the edge of a circular recess in the base 8, a number of balls 4 of lead or other metal within the ball 1 serving to counterbalance the weight of the pen 3. An annular frame 5 of rubber, felt, or like resilient material is provided around the edge of the recess to receive the weighted ball 1. In a modification, Fig. 2, the support for the weighted ball comprises three resilient feet 10 shaped spherically at their ends 11 which receive the ball 1.
