Abstract

684,827. Golf-practising appliances. HORTON, M. Aug. 27, 1951. [Sept. 25, 1950 ; Oct. 4, 1950] No. 20134/51. Class 132 (ii). A substitute golf-ball comprises a hollow resilient cylinder (Fig. 1) having painted parts 11 representing a golf-ball, or as shown in Fig. 2, the cylinder has bulges 10 representing the ball. The cylinder need not be cylindrical in the strict geometrical sense. One or each end may be closed by a thin membrane. As shown in Fig. 4, the cylindrical part 12 is closed by a ball part 13 of more than a hemisphere. The face of the part 13 within the part 12 may be convex or concave and may have an additional depression 14. The parts 12, 13 are differently coloured. The weight of all embodiments is of the same order as that of a standard golf-ball.
