Abstract

331,975. Hunter, S. A. May 6, 1929. Resistance grids. - A resistance element for an electrical grid consists of sheet or strip metal in zig-zag formation and stiffened by imparting to the grid a curve of V, U, or other form, the plane of the curve being approximately at right angles to the curves formed by the zigzags, and the direction of the V or U-shaped curve changing for each alternate arm so that adjacent arms nest one within the other. Fig. 1 shows an opened out portion of an element 1. The ends of the element may be extended and provided with a screw 8 and nut 4 for securing the member to a supporting frame; the latter may also have corrugated parts on which the normal ends of the element fit.
