Abstract
331,728. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Aug. 17, 1929. Catalytic agents; ammonia, catalytic oxidation of.-A catalyst for the oxidation of ammonia consists of a metal of the platinum group having a coating of finely divided rhodium or a mixture of rhodium with one or more other platinum metals. The coating may be applied in the form of a rhodium salt which is subsequently ignited or it may be applied by electrolysis. The platinum metal to which the rhodium is applied may itself be in the form of a coating on a metallic or non- metallic foundation such as porcelain balls.
