Catalytic agents, preparation of.-A contact element of wire netting particularly for use in the oxidation of ammonia is composed of a metal such as rhodium or an alloy such as a platinum. rhodium alloy, but comprises also some wires of pure platinum. The platinum wires may be present either as warp or weft threads, or both.
