Abstract

330,655. Neville, W. H. I., and Carnes, C. Feb. 20, 1929. Grouped machines.-A machine for making the fabric described in Specification 314,720 by sewing rows of stitches on a fleece of mineral fibres, consists of staggered sewing machines operated from a common motor. The layer of fibres is fed on to the work table 13 from a suitable conveyer where rows of sewing-machines 3, 4, 5, 3<1>, 4<1>, 5<1>, 3<11> 4<11>, 5<11> operated from the motor 21 by gearing, sew the rows of stitches. The machines may be, if desired, multiple needle machines.
