Plant; gaseous mixtures.-A gas manufacturing plant comprises a carbonization plant and a water gas plant, means for mixing the water gas and coal gas for distribution gas, and means for mixing a portion of the whole blow gas of the water gas plant with a portion of the water gas or coal gas or coal gas not stripped by its illuminants to form a fuel gas for heating the carbonization plant. Water gas passes from a producer A through a main j to a scrubber band preferably through a carburetter c to a main m for mixing with coal gas from retorts a. The " blow " gas passes through a scrubber b to a relief gas holder c, where it is mixed with coal gas or water gas from a main k for heating the retorts. A pump d and valves are fitted where shown. The blow gas may heat the carburettor c. Specifications 17494/01 and 17510/01 are referred to.
