Abstract

330,008. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., Wellings, J. G., and Mayo, C. G. March 5, 1929. Transformers. - Current transformers for use with measuring instruments are improved as regards accuracy by locating within the core an auxiliary winding adapted to produce a flux at right-angles to the direction of the main working flux. The drawing shows a ring core made by coiling a strip of magnetic material, the coil being divided circumferentially to accommodate the auxiliary winding 9 which produces a flux as indicated by arrows in Fig. 1 at right-angles to the main flux indicated by arrows in Fig. 2. Alternatively, the material of the core itself may be used as a conductor forming the auxiliary winding. Specifications 286,431 and 301,558 are referred to.
