Producers.-In the generation of an oil gas and water gas mixture in a set comprising a single generator 1, carburettor 2, and superheater 3, the oil is admitted to at least two vessels of the set, and the resulting oil gas and vapours are passed through the fuel bed to the wash-box. The oil is supplied through pipes 15, 16 and 17, and steaming may precede or follow the oil gas generating stage. 'The uprun water gas may be carburetted as usual; a back-running steam pipe 10 is provided.
