329,598. Humphreys & Glasgow, Ltd., (Assignees of Hall, E. L.). Dec. 29, 1928, [Convention date]. Producers.-In generating carburetted water gas by mixing blue water gas with oil gas generated in a stage separate from steaming, oil and previously made gas are admitted simultaneously to the oil-vaporizing chamber and the mixed products are passed through the fuel bed. In operation, and following an up-run during which the water gas is carburetted as usual, oil is fed to the superheater 3 together with gas withdrawn from storage by a fan 24; the resultant mixture passes through the carburetter 2 and either up or down the fuel bed 5. A pipe 17 leads from the generator 1 to the wash-box 4.
