Abstract

328,523. Hey, A. Feb. 13, 1929, [Convention date]. Combing-machines. -The dabber brush, bolted to the dabber foot of a worsted comb, has sockets in the brush back in which fit reinforcing lock washers, which allow adjustment of the brush and hold the bolt heads against turning, with minimum tendency to warp or split the wood of the brush back. The lock washers and the brush back 12 have slots 23 of cruciform, linear, or other shape to receive the bolts 16 the heads 17 of whch are usually square. Each washer is recessed to receive two jaws 24 pivoted at 25, Fig. 1, which together with parts 30 of the recess walls form guideways which hold the head of the bolt. The brush can thus be adjusted on the dabber foot 14, Fig. 6, in either of two directions at right angles according to the direction in which the jaws 24 are turned.
