Loud-speakers. - A large - diaphragm loud. speaker unit is combined with a horn which first contracts in sectional area and then expands towards the flare, an air gap being provided between the edges of the diaphragm and the horn inlet. The horn may consist of two funnel-shaped parts 20, 21, Fig. 4, whose throats open into each other. Either or both the sections may be bell-shaped or the two sections may be joined as shown in Fig. 5.
