Abstract

270,073. Harrison, C. N. April 12, 1926. Sound magnifying and directing appliances. - An attachment adapted to be mounted in the horn of a sound amplifier or loud-speaker, comprises an inner diaphragm 1 having a large central perforation 3 and an outer diaphragm 2 provided with perforations 4 around its periphery, the diaphragms being spaced apart by a rubber ring 5 and preferably secured in an annular recess 6 in its outer end of the horn 7 by a clamping ring 8. The diaphragm 2 may be provided with a convex centre portion 9, whilst the diaphragm 1 may be provided with a number of smaller perforations around its centre in place of the large perforation 3. Two or more perforated diaphragms may be provided in addition to the outer diaphragm, the perforations in any adjacent diaphragms being out of alignment. According to the Provisional Specification the outer diaphragm may also be provided with additional perforations which are not coincident with those in the inner diaphragm.
