Force - feed and capillary - action lubricating.-In carburettors having moving pistons, an oil-containing vessel A, which may have transparent walls, is screwed into the top of the carburettor in place of the usual cap and is fitted with an internal tube D which is closed at its upper end and open at its lower end, the tube being provided with perforations C through which oil is drawn to the piston or piston rod. The vessel is fitted with a vented filler cap C. A second tube G, Fig. 3, may be fitted within the tube D and a tubular wick I be arranged between the two tubes, the lower end of the outer tube D being provided with perforations &c. to allow oil to pass from the vessel to the wick and thence to the piston.
