Abstract

326,974. Hahn, M., and Wolf, M. Feb. 27. 1929. Explosives.-An explosive is prepared by dissolving burnt lime in nitric acid, adding cellulose and water, and drying, further addition of a solution of lime in nitric acid and redrying being subsequently effected to render the explosive ready for use. For example, 8-13 parts by weight of burnt lime is dissolved in 50 parts of raw nitric acid of 80‹ BÚ., this is diluted with 1-5 parts of water and mixed with peat powder or sawdust and dried, about 5 parts by weight of liquid being used for 1 part of the cellulose material. Before use, the dried material is again mixed with the same proportion of the liquid and again dried.
