Opening by cutting or tearing.-A pre-formed tagger closure, applied to the mouth of a rectangular metal box or similar container, comprises a flanged rectangular plate formed with rounded corners and provided with a depressed or panelled centre part 8 surrounded by a narrow rim in which is formed a continuous groove 9 situated close to the side wall of the container and serving to guide a cutting tool which can be stored in the space provided between the part 8 and the lid 4.
