326,440. Cox, G. H. Sept. 7, 1928. Gas and oil heating-stoves; boilers, arrangement of. - Radiator elements e are connected to a small boiler c heated by a gas or oil burner. The apparatus is entirely sealed with the contained air at, or slightly above, atmospheric pressure, and the boiler contains only sufficient water to keep the radiator elements filled with steam under normal conditions, and to maintain a film of water in the boiler itself. Abnormal heating renders the boiler entirely dry and prevents the generation of dangerous pressures. The boiler may contain porous material c', such as pieces of unglazed pottery, which absorbs the water in the boiler. In the radiator shown the four tubular radiator elements e are connected by pipes b<2> to the boiler c, and each contains an inner tube f forming a container in which food or water may be heated; a draw-off pipe a<2> is shown connected to the lower ends of two of the containers. Pointed extensions c<2> of the lower ends of the container facilitate the noiseless return of the condensed steam to the boiler c.
