Heating by indirect contact of steam.-Low pressure steam is obtained from a high pressure supply by introducing the latter into water-heating elements wherein it is condensed. The steam is led into one or more heaters b enclosed within a low pressure boiler a, and consisting of containers c through pass tubes f open to the water in the boiler. Condensation water passes through connections h into a ring tube k, and is discharged externally; non-condensible constituents escape through a similar tube l above the heaters. Low pressure steam escapes through a pipe n, and mud is removed through an outlet o.
