Alternation equalizers and similar impedance networks. - An impedance is connected to the secondary of a transformer to compensate for damping &c. in the transformer winding and enable a flat voltage-frequency curve to be obtained over a large frequency range with transformer ratios higher than the usual 1-5 or 1-6. The impedance consists of a resistance, an inductance and a capacity arranged so that its voltage-frequency curve is the reverse of the transformer curve. The impedance may be in series with or parallel to the transformer secondary and part of the resistance may be incorporated in the transformer winding.
