Transformers. - A transformer for use in amplifying high or lowfrequency currents has one of its windings divided into sections oppositely wound so that currents due to electrostatic coupling between the two windings are mutually opposed in the sections as indicated by the full line arrows, whilst the sections are so connected that currents due to electromagnetic coupling between the windings are in the same direction in the sections as indicated by the broken line arrows.
