Abstract

324,849. Reyner, J. H. March 22, 1929. Inductances. -An inductance for use with a variable condenser for tuning on two wave bands comprises two fixed concentric or coaxial coils a, b, of which the former alone is in circuit when tuning on the longer wave band and both are connected in parallel by means of a switch e when tuning on the lower wave band, coupling being effected either by a tapping f, Fig. 1, on the long-wave coil a or by coils g, h, Fig. 2, coupled more closely with the coil a than with the coil b. Fig. 3 shows a constructional form of the arrangement diagrammatically shown in Fig. 2, the long-wave coil a being wound on a cylindrical former j, and the coil b on a coaxial outer former i. The coils g, h are wound on an inner coaxial former k and are arranged to be closely coupled with the coil a. According to the Provisional Specification, the coils a, b may be placed in series for the long wave band. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 321,711.
