Abstract
324,867. Power-Gas Corporation, Ltd., and Rambush, N. E. April 23, 1929. Producer plant.-A water gas generator has a tubular steam superheater and steam is superheated alternately or simultaneously outside and inside the tubes, which may first be heated by the blow gases. Part of the steam may be employed for another purpose and may be sect through the tubes during the blow period. Steam from a waste heat boiler may be passed continuously through some, of the tubes and through the whole of the tubes when not occupied by process steam. Two superheaters may be provided. In a. water gas plant comprising a generator 4, steam superheater 5, and waste heat boiler 6, steam to flow upwardly through the generator is passed through superheating tubes covered with sleeves of non-metallic heat-storing material as described in Specification 288,463. An inlet valve 3 is changed over during the run period, steam then entering the brick-lined superheater vessel, passing over the superheater tubes and through the generator in a downward direction.
