Abstract
211,997. Kermode, J. J. Dec. 13, 1922. Dampers for controlling superheaters. - A vertical boiler having cross water-tubes 3 in the combustion chamber is fitted with baffle plates 1 carried by metal strips or rods 1<a> secured to the plates and bent around convenient watertubes. Baffle plates are placed below and above the group of cross-tubes, and another baffle 5 may be placed above the superheater 6 at the top of the combustion chamber. The baffle plates may be perforated, and a sliding plate operated by a rod extending through the casing to the outside of the boiler may be fitted over each perforated plate.
