Chairs with fixed jaws, and securing to sleepers ; sleepers, metal.-Chairs formed by pressing a metal bar or plate and consisting of a rail seating with a key jaw and a rail jaw, have the jaws provided on their outer sides with integral flanges forming channel sections. The plate is first formed with flanges shallower at the centre b than at their ends b'. The end parts are then doubled over the base and bent up to form jaws d, d<1> which will thus be narrower than the rail seating. The key jaw d is longer than the rail jaw d<1>. A pair of corrugations k may be provided to position the rail. The chairs may be spaced by or may abut against corrugations on the sleeper or tongues pressed up from the sleeper.
