224,473. Guest, Keen, & Nettlefolds, Ltd., and Bayley, J. P. June 10, 1924. Sleepers, pot; tie-bars.- An I-section tie-bar 11 has similar opposite recesses 19, 20 engaged respectively by a sleeper abutment 12 and a securing wedge 21. The tie-bar enters a tubular or trough portion 8 connecting opposite sides 9, 10 of the box part forming the rail seat 7. The rail seat may have a trough 23. The rail is secured by keys and distance pieces which are described in Specifications 220,522 and 220,529 and engage fixed lugs 4, 5. The rail seat and sleeper flanges may be narower in the direction of the rail to enable the sleepers to be spaced closely at the rail joints. The sleeper has a facing 18 which receives the wedge 21 and is inclined to a line at right angles to the tie-bar.
