Abstract

226,907. Summerson, R. B., and Wrightson, S. S. Oct. 22, 1923. Point-tongues, mounting of.-A heel block comprises a bar B, bolted to the tongue TR and lead rail LR by ordinary fishbolts N and provided with one or more projections P which bear against the stock rail SR. A bolt A<1>, Fig. 2, passes through the projection P' and rails LR, SR while projection P is secured to rail SR by a bolt A with its head recessed into the bar B. In a modification, Fig. 9, the projections have feet which are bolted to the rail SR. In other modifications, Figs. 5 and 7, the projections are not bolted to the rail SR. The bar may be supported by one or more fixed or adjustable stops carried by the rail SR and may be provided with longitudinal ribs or flanges between the projections. The Provisional Specification also describes a bar with five projections.
