Crossings without movable parts; turnouts, arrangement of.-A turnplate crossing 1, having inclined extensions 2, 3 which fit between the continuous main rails 5, 6 is secured in place by brackets 8 underneath the plate 1 and wedges 7 which are driven between the rail web and the brackets. The crossing has extensions 10, 11 provided with slots 12 to receive the webs of the branch rails 13. Guides 4, 12a, are provided for the main and branch rails. The extensions 2, 3 may be integral with the crossing 1.
