248,979. Woodward, B. F. June 22, 1925. Roads and ways, arrangements of.--A street crossing with intersecting railways has a connected series of subways 7 - - 10 aligned with the sidewalks and provided with ramps 11 - - 18 angularly arranged in pairs at each corner of the crossing, while stairways 20 - - 23 are provided adjacent the railways and communicating with the subways. Walls 25 and rails 26 enclose a safety zone at each stairway. Shops &c. may be provided in the subways.
