Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 104 (ii).] A metal sleeper 1 is provided on each side of the rail with a longitudinal channel 4 of inverted T-shape or the like, along which clips C, C<1> are slid to engage the rail flange 7. Each groove at the end near the rail has an enlargement, m, n, p, q into which shoulders 16 on the clips drop to secure the clip in position. The clips are tightened on the rails by forked wedge keys K driven between the base 12 of the clip and the shoulders of the groove. The surface of contact s between the clip C<1> and the flange is shorter th a n the corresponding surface on the clip C, so that by interchanging the clips the rail may be adjusted laterally.
