324,184. Tabanou, J. Dec. 12, 1928. Blocks with air cavities.-Building blocks, of the kind having a series of through holes, have the holes formed with shell-like tops formed by the . diminished upper ends. Figs. 1 and 2 show one staggered row of cylindrical holes 2 and three rows of ovoid holes 4 arranged in staggered formation. All the holes are diminished at the upper ends as shown at 5. Grouting recesses 6 are formed at the ends of the block. Fig. 5 shows a construction with one row of circular holes 7 and three rows of staggered oblong openings 8 with rounded ends, the cross section of which gradually increases row by row as the inner surface b is approached. Two grouting notches 9, 10 are provided at each end.
