664,735. Floors and walls. McCALLS MACALLOY, Ltd. Jan. 19, 1950 [July 22, 1949], No. 19353/49. Class 20(iv) A floor or wall is formed from a number of elements arranged side by side, each element comprising a series of hollow blocks. a arranged end to end and prestressed by tension bars &c. c which pass through holes a<SP>1</SP> interiorly of the blocks and enclosed therein. The bars are anchored to end blocks b which have recesses f so that the bars &c. do not project beyond the ends of the elements. Certain intermediate blocks may. have apertures for electric conduits &c. and may be provided with transverse holes through which transverse tensioning elements are passed. As shown in Fig. 11 the end blocks b of the floor elements F may form one course of the wall W.
