Abstract
323,146. Triggs, W. W., (Schmidt'sche Heissdampf-Ges.). April 22, 1929. Dampers for controlling superheat ; supporting superheaters. - The steam circulating through the heating coils 10 of an indirectly heated boiler 11 is generated in tubes 3 which are so looped above the combustion chamber as to form one or more horizontal flue spaces 5 for the reception of a steam superheater. A sliding damper 16 above the flue 5 controls the passage of the gases along the flue and over the superheater 15. The superheating tubes are secured at their bends by bolts 38 engaging in plates 39 which at one end are supported by bands 33 around the generating tubes and at the other end are connected to the superheater headers 40.
