Abstract

322,060. Millar, C. R., and Strachan, D. S. Oct. 26, 1928. Rope grips.-In a rope grip particularly intended for use in the cable traction of trucks the movable jaw c is disengaged from the rope h by a spring i when the pivoted member g is disengaged from the block e. The jaw c is loosely mounted on a spindle d which is screwed into the block e and is provided with an actuating handle d<4>. The block e is slidably but non- rotatably mounted in a casing f and is formed with a recess e<3> to receive the end of the member g. The jaw c is prevented from rotating by the engagement of pins c<2> with apertures in the fixed jaw a. The member g is disengaged from the block when it encounters a ramp fixed to the track. The jaw c is adjusted to take up wear by rotating the handle d<4>.
