Abstract

321,940. Littlefield, C. Aug. 20, 1928. Wrapping - ma - chines.- Linkwork for imparting a reciprocating movement with a dwell to the transfer plunger by which articles are shifted from a conveyer to a wrapping machine, comprises a uniformly rotating crank 4 operating a rock shaft 5 through a link 9 sustained at its further end by a rock arm 14 on a fixed pivot 15, an arm 8 on the rock shaft 5 being coupled by a link 10 to the centre of the link 9. A second arm 6 on the shaft 5 transmits the motion through a link 7 to the plunger 1. The dwell occurs at that phase of the crank rotation during which the end 11 of the link 10 swings substantially in an arc having the other end 13 for a centre.
