Bedsteads convertible into settees; folding bedsteads; adjustments; joints; occupants, retaining. - A bed-settee comprises a box-like body 1, a frame 3 upon said body for supporting a mattress, detachable bed and settee end members B, S, either of which when not in use are contained within the box, a closure 2 for said box and a detachable back 10 for the settee adapted to serve as a mattress for the bed. The back is preferably formed in two portions longitudinally hinged together, see Fig. 3. Hoohed members 8 ou the frame 3 engage members 9 on the bed and settee ends, and a detachable upholstered settee front 15 may be provided. Means shown in Fig. 10 may be provided at the ends of the frame 3 so that the latter mav be lifted to facilitate the connection and removal of the ends B, S. A side guard 16 ma.y be provided.
