Abstract

321,472. Jessop, W., Drums, Ltd., and International Paint & Compositions Co., Ltd. Aug. 15, 1928. Flanging.-A bung-hole bush &c. c having a flange d is secured to a sheet-metal drum by inserting the flange in a recess in the wall of the drum and forming a fold e on the outside of the flange. The back c may be screw-threaded or plain, and a sealing ring g having holes for a sealing wire to pass through may be enclosed by the fold e. A packing washer having a cylindrical projection may be inserted between the flange d and the part a and the cylindrical projection is folded outwardly over the part a during the pressing operation. In some cases the packing washer may be a scored disc which is pierced on the insertion of a tap &c. and acts as a bung.
