Abstract

320,796. Smith, W. F. Bensted- Nov. 12, 1928. Jacks.-A lever jack 1 for lifting and manipulating a detachable wheel 4 of a motor vehicle is provided with a curved end 3, an adjustable fulcrum 6, and a pedal 2. The wheel-engaging end 9, Fig. 4, of the jack may be forked and provided with rollers 11 curved to fit the tyre and to permit rotation of the wheel. The transverse fulcrum 6 may be formed as a roller to facilitate manipulation. For heavy wheels the fulcrum 13, Fig. 5, is at the end of the jack and a screw 15 may be fitted to the handle end to raise the load. A fluid-pressure jack may be placed under the handle end to raise the load.
