Abstract

319,856. Morris Commercial Cars, Ltd., and Hamill, W. W. July 17, 1928. Blocks and shoes.-Brake shoes are provided, in addition to or in lieu of the usual rivets, with serrations or projections adapted to enter the substance of the friction lining to take the stresses set up when the shoe functions. Fig. 1 shows a shoe with transverse serrations e each of which mav have one face at a steeper angle than the other, the steeper face facing towards the direction of rotation to take the major stresses. Instead of continuous transverse serrations, projections arranged in rows or in sinuous configuration may be provided.
