Contents, facilitating access to; contents, viewing; securing on supports; boxes made from special blanks.-In a box, hinged at one end to a vertical surface which forms the closure of the open part of the box when turned up against the surface, the opening is formed at the end of the box remote from the hinge 9 so that it is wholly in the upper part of the box throughout its complete range of movement. The hinge may be a length of wire formed into a pair of coiled springs at the ends of a loop, the ends 12 of the springs being secured to the surface 10 and the loop mgaging the covered part 6 adjacent the opening in the box so as normally to keep the box against the surface 10 or a fastening may be provided to hold the box in its upturned position; a stop or link may be used to prevent the box dropping below the horizontal position when in use. The ends 3, 4 of the box adjacent the opening and hinge converge towards the wall 5 opposite the opening; the opening may be provided with a hinged cover 13 which can be held in the open position by a stop 14. The box may be formed from a pair of blanks, one providing the walls 3, 4 and 5 and flaps for attachment to the second blank which provides the sides 2, the part 6 and a reinforcing member for the wall 4, the part 6 may be reinforced by an additional piece of cardboard, and when a binged cover 13 is provided this is formed as an extension of the part 6. The box may be moulded from pulp or made in metal or formed of transparent material, or it may be fitted with a transparent window.
