Abstract

318,747. Yates, H. J., Howlett & Co., Ltd., M., and Dolphin, J. Sept. 12. 1928. Plug cocks. - In a plug tap or cock, more particularly for gas supply to gas cookers &c., of the type in which a rotary conical plug g 2 is fitted interiorly with a hollow cylindrical regulating- sleeve 7, a compressible washer 14 is disposed between the plug and the sleeve. The sleeve and plug may be grooved as shown at 16 and 17. The sleeve is forced down upon the packing-washer by a ring-nut 18, and is rotated from the lower end for regulation of the gas passages. The washer may consist of asbestos 14 with thin copper plates 15 above and below. The cock has a single axial inlet at 3 and one or more outlets 5, 6. A groove 21 in the plug or in the casing forms a reservoir for grease for lubrication purposes. Specification 254,945 is referred to.
