Abstract

318,244. Aktiebolaget Separator, (Assignees of Scott, W. A.). Sept. 1, 1928, [Convention date]. Hose pipes combined with electric conductors. -A combined pneumatic and electric power conductor comprises a flexible tube a for transmission of pneumatic power, and small bores b, c formed in the walls of the tube a. A shouldered ferrule d is forced inside the tube end, and a ring e grips the outside of the tube end. Flexible metallic conductors f, g, of length 10 to 15 per cent greater than the length of the tube a, are drawn into the bores b, c, one end of the conductor g being attached to the ferrule d and one end of the conductor f to the ring e. The flexible tube is then stretched until enough of the conductors f, g remain extending from the tube for connection to the ferrule and ring at other end of the tube a. After connection of the conductors f, g, the tube a is allowed to contract, the conductors f, g crinkling in the bores b, c as shown in Fig. 1.
