Transmitting-mechanism.- A governor controlled valve for high pressure steam or other gaseous fluid comprises a spherical lift member a with seating e and converging and diverging casing passages x, v, the passage v being the outlet diffuser. The transmission of movement from the piston to the valve takes place through a link hand lower lever p, the latter having a cam contact with an upper lever i connected by a link o to the valve. The cam contact surfaces of the levers may be convex, or the upper one convex and the lower one concave. With this arrangement the initial portion of the lift of the valve is slow, the subsequent upward movement being rapid. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the valve is operated by the piston c under control of a tubular piston valve s operated by a centrifugal governor. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
