Abstract
304,774. Le Bozec, L. Jan. 26, 1928, [Convention date]. Lift valves; actuating-mechanism.-A two-way or multiple-way guided lift valve comprises a lift disc 12 or cone attached by a cross-pin 14 to a slide plunger 9 guided in a cylindrical guide 5 supported by ribs 4 in the casing 1. The plunger and valve are biassed to the open position by a light spring 16. To close the valve the handle 18 first operates the cam 8 to propel the plunger and carry the valve up to its seating. On further movement of the handle 18 an internal powerful spring 7, which is under an initial stress, is further compressed and acts upon the valve 12 through a pin 17 to force the valve tightly upon its seating. The pin has a hemispherical head, and the opening 13 through which the cross-pin 14 passes is flared at both ends, so that the valve disk is allowed to adjust itself evenly to its seating 3.
