Electrolytic and induction furnaces. - In the electrolysis of fused substances the electrolyte 6 is heated by currents induced in the electrodes 8, the container 1, or in conducting bodies 7 immersed in the electrolvte. The induction coil 3 surrounds the container. The bodies 7 are moved by the electromagnetic forces and thereby produce a stirring effect.
